Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Intern.

In this role, the successful candidate The Institute for Excellence in Health Equity at NYU Langone Health is looking to hire a student research intern. The research intern will work on initiatives focused on health equity in the New York City area. This exciting opportunity involves integration within a multidisciplinary team of partners in community-based research, community service, preventative-care, epidemiology, and public health across multiple partnering organizations.

Job Responsibilities:

Project knowledge Demonstrate thorough knowledge of our research studies, study rationale(s), and process(es) of the study. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required, such as: Recruitment and outreach Work with community partners to outreach and recruit for research studies, and Survey development and administration Assist with survey development, outreach, and conducting survey assessments. Actively participate in programmatic opportunities, inclusive of the summer seminar series, career panel, and journal club. Seek out opportunities for mentorship within the department. Communicate closely with the Principal Investigator(s), study team members, and supervisors to provide updates about study progress and related issues. Present findings and progress reports at lab meetings, respond to challenges and participates in exchanges of ideas to advance the science. Contribute to design and implementation of literature or scoping reviews or focus groups. Independent research Under guidance from faculty, develop an independent research hypothesis and present a synthesis of findings in the form of a poster presentation and abstract.  
 

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a 1. Applicants may be enrolled in a degree program.
2. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
3. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
4. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook.
5. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $16.50 – $20.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
