Temporary Nursing Program!

2 - 12hr & 1 8hr shift

ResponsibilitiesA Student Nurse Intern (SNI) will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) providing care to a diverse population of patients. Responsibilities include assisting both the RN and the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with activities of daily living, basic nursing care to patients, and assisting in the maintenance of a safe environment for both patients and staff. Additionally, the SNI assists with the collection of baseline and on-going assessment data, basic interventions, and the evaluation of the patient response to interventions.
The program is 8-weeks in length. One day per week, the SNI will attend an interactive education session (4-hour) on a specific topic related to quality nursing care. SNI will be assigned to 1st East or PCU with the opportunity shadow in specialty areas such as the Cancer Center, Peri-Operative Services, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Wound Center, Maternal Child Health Services, Emergency and Critical Care units. The SNI will be able to choose up to six (6) specialty areas.

QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and within 1 year of successfully completing the program.
2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
