The Nurse Tech works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Nurse Tech include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The Nurse Tech must exhibit the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple, priorities and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.


Education: High School/GED required. Candidates must meet the following criteria:

Completed a minimum of 2 semesters of clinical experience within an academic nursing program.Completed the following educational courses and clinical experience: Fundamentals of Nursing and Pharmacology including medication administration.Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Associate Degree, Diploma or Baccalaureate Professional Nursing Program.Nursing graduates pending completion of NCLEX are also eligible.

License/Certification: BLS required before conclusion of orientation period. Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or equivalent preferred.
