Job Summary

The University of Michigan-Dearborn's Office of Student Life (OSL) is seeking an energetic and motivated Student Organizations Coordinator to continue to enhance and refine how we serve students. The selected candidate will report to the Director of Student Life and will enhance the overall student experience by providing oversight for the Campus Involvement Hub and student organizations, including the fraternity and sorority community. Functionally, OSL oversees Student Activities, Civic Engagement, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Leadership Programs, Campus Traditions, Student Organizations, Student Government, and the Wolverine Media Network.

Responsibilities*

Primary Responsibilities

Support 150+ student organizations and oversee organization registration process, training, and event planning processesManage the Campus Involvement Hub, enhancing the overall commuter student experience through community-building opportunities and resourcesProvide leadership, support, and oversight for campus fraternities, sororities, and related councils and maintain relationships with (inter)national headquartersAdvise the Student Organization Allocation CouncilSupervise the Student Organization Consultant team (student employees)Plan and execute campus involvement initiatives such as the Go Blue Bash, Winter Involvement Fair, and Greek-A-PaloozaProvide leadership/oversight for Victors Link, the campus? student engagement/organization portalOversee the operational and programming budgets for the Campus Involvement Hub and fraternity and sorority life

General Responsibilities

Seek out opportunities for collaboration and maintain working partnerships, both within and outside of the UniversityEstablish, achieve, and assess learning outcomes according to University and department priorities and best practicesRepresent OSL on University and Division committees and task forcesContribute to an inclusive campus and community environmentContribute actively and collaboratively toward the OSL mission, goals, and prioritiesOther duties as assigned by the supervisorRequired Qualifications*Bachelor's degree in social sciences, liberal arts, education, or related field1-2 years of relevant experience working in a higher education setting1 years working with student organizations1 year experience working with fraternities and sororities either on a college campus or for international headquarters in a professional, graduate, and/or volunteer capacityAbility to facilitate educational workshopsAbility to manage conflict through restorative measuresExcellent oral and written communication skillsKnowledge of student development theories and practicesDemonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and InclusionAvailability to work periodic evenings and weekendsDesired Qualifications*Master's degree in higher education & student affairs, college student personnel, or related fields OR equivalent relevant experience in the field of higher education/student affairsAffiliation with a fraternity or sororityModes of Work
