Job Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS

Enrolled in a Degree / Diploma program in Engineering (Mechanical or Material)Strong written and verbal communication skillsProficient in the following computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and OutlookGood organizational skills

DESIRABLE ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

(Optional) – Preferred but not required

Automotive manufacturing experience in test lab or similar is an assetKnowledge of laboratory equipmentWorking knowledge of instrumentation for data acquisition and machine control (lab view, Daytronics, load cell, and oscilloscope)Working knowledge of pneumaticsWorking knowledge of PLC based control systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprintsAbility to accurately test products for consistency with specifications.Quality Assurance training

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain 5S standards in working environmentSupport daily maintenance of test equipment and fixturesAssist test technician in the set up of tests and data collectionAssist with testing result analysis and reporting resultsCollect samples for glass content testingOpen Doc Rev and correctionAssist with packing instruction updatesAssist with CMM document scansSupport with proto-type buildsClerical work involving preparing launch readiness, audit reports and bill of materials reviewSample tagging and inventory managementRead and become knowledgeable with specifications and standardsTroubleshooting of test lab equipment -- current and preventativeAssist in development, implementation and ensure adherence to all customer specific test standardsMay communicate test results to engineering program management when directedAssist with daily operation and scheduling of the test labAssist with on-going weld testing as described belowSetup and Perform Testing in accordance with specifications and documentation of results as directedCommunicate test results to the respective Project Manager when directedManage and co-ordinate the activities for test technician involved in testing to ensure that all product testing conforms to standards and that resources are availableSupport ISO/QS9000 and IATF/TS16949 efforts as it pertains to the LabAwareness, Unity, Empowerment:At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
