Student Radiation Therapist

Assist in all technical aspects of patient management including simulation and treatment planning, treatment procedures, dosimetry, fabrication of treatment aids and chart documentation processes in accordance with the orders of the Radiation Oncologist and under the direct supervision of a Registered Radiation Therapist.
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Radiation Therapist, the Student Radiation Therapist will:
Assist in simulation and radiation treatment planning processes and procedures adhering to institutional policies and procedures, governmental regulations, and professional standards.
Assist in radiation treatment delivery adhering to institutional policies and procedures, governmental regulations, and professional standards.
Perform patient charting as it pertains to simulation, radiation treatment delivery and billing.
Provide patient education and assessment of patient needs during simulation and radiation treatment processes.
Coordinate patient schedules/transportation related to simulation and radiation treatment processes and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:Required:
Currently attending an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program with sufficient credits to graduate within 6 months.
Preferred:
Bachelor?s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time), and/or; 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or; greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly (2/3 or more of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time), and/or; 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or; greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly (2/3 or more of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
