Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Max Bell, develop and implement a data-driven recruitment strategy to increase the number and quality of applications to the MPP program. Conduct market research to inform the development of programs and initiatives, including executive education programs. Develop ways to expand the School’s network of prospective employers for MPP graduates, and identify and develop opportunities to increase engagement with existing programs and initiatives – the MPP policy lab. Manage the logistics for the annual conferences/ lectures, publications, and visiting academic positions. 


Primary Responsibilities:

Propose and implement a recruitment action plan for the School’s Master of Public Policy program.

Develop recruitment opportunities and represent the School at career fairs and recruitment events across Canada, in person and/or virtually.

Research admissions data to provide recommendations to enhance recruitment. Keep abreast of emerging trends in international graduate programs and Master of Public Policy recruitment.

Evaluate recruitment objectives and goals.

Engage in outreach and business development activities targeting prospective employers across policy sectors.

Conduct market research to inform the development of executive education programs and other programming.

Recommend and pursue strategic partnerships to enrich the School’s existing programs.

Identify and develop opportunities to leverage existing relationships (foundations, donors, policy lab sponsors, visiting academics, university advancement).

Conduct research as needed to inform decision-making and establish best-practices


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Graduate degree or equivalent

Familiarity with the Canadian and International policy communities and organizations

A minimum of three years’ experience in networking, communications and business development

Superb research and analytical skills

Ability to manage multiple projects with demonstrated strong planning, organization, data-driven, priority-setting and problem-solving skills

Excellent interpersonal, relation-building, and communication skills

Valid Quebec driver’s license and Canadian Passport

Ability to travel for off-campus conferences, events and recruitment venues
