Join our innovative team in the Department of Radiation Oncology as a Laboratory Research Assistant. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator to support cutting-edge research initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting advanced studies in DNA processing, performing precise PCR testing, and maintaining tissue cell cultures. You'll also play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory through essential tasks such as DNA isolation and general lab maintenance. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful research in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Salary: $17.30 - $45.00 per hour
Qualifications
Required
+ Skill in sterile technique and of tissue culture cell lines.
+ Basic molecular biological skills, e.g. Southern, Northern and PCR.
+ Experience working with DNA, RNA, and proteins.
+ Skill in establishing and maintaining cells in tissue culture.
+ Skill in using micropipettors, microscopes, centrifuges, scintillation counter, histology equipment, CO2 incubators, waterbaths, spectrophotometer, gel dryer, pH meter autoclaves, FACS.
+ Knowledge of lab safety procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous, organic and radioactive waste.
