Job Description: The Economics Department in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a Student Services Specialist to join a dynamic team supporting a wide range of departmental activities. The specialist will be the primary point of contact for the undergraduate office, welcoming visitors, addressing inquiries, and guiding them to the appropriate person or location. The specialist fosters student engagement by sharing campus and community resources, providing guidance, and connecting students with campus services. They also collaborate with advisors and a recruitment committee for Agricultural Business and Economics, engaging with prospective students and families and implementing new initiatives. Additional responsibilities include operational support for advising teams and departmental functions, maintaining records, managing course offerings and materials, assisting with learning communities, and supporting student organizations. Administrative duties involve creating visual displays, facilitating transitions to systems like WorkDay Student, ensuring compliance with university policies, and providing support for faculty and events. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills in communication, organization, project management, time management, problem-solving, and planning. With nearly forty faculty members, the department is committed to excellence in the creation, dissemination, and application of economic knowledge.
