Posting Summary
Provide academic advising and support of the programmatic coordination of a first-year and sophomore program and delivery of specialized academic support services for College of Agriculture and Life Sciences ( CALS ) first-year and sophomore students across all departments. Contribute to a positive and collegial work environment and maintain open and clear communication with direct supervisor. Work with supervisor to develop and implement strategies for retention, and build a collaborative effort across all departments to advise and orient new students.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in a specialized or related field and one to three years’ related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required. Current working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications. Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working with university-level students and advising desired but not required. Desire to be a valued member of a team who places high importance on customer service, positive attitude, and teamwork. Also desirable are: familiarity with the UVM administrative systems (PeopleSoft, Banner, myUVM, Registrar, Drupal, Degree Audit, NAVIGATE ).
Anticipated Pay Range $26.50/hr to $29.25/hr

Special Conditions Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
