Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit The mission of the Division of Student Success is to work in partnership with the University community to deliver high quality services to facilitate the recruitment, retention and graduation of a diverse student population and strive to provide service, leadership, and transitional student support for UNCG. The Division of Student Success is committed to designing, implementing, and providing the services necessary to promote student success throughout the entire student life cycle from day one to diploma. This division includes the offices of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, University Advising, New Student Transitions & First Year Experience, Students First Office, Academic Achievement Center, TRiO Programs, UNCG Guarantee, GEAR UP UNCG, and the Multiliteracy Centers (Speaking Center, Writing Center, and Math Help Center). Position Summary The Student Success Quality Enhancement Associate Director and provides strategic support and management of the University’s Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and other initiatives as it relates to student success. Working closely with the Division of Student Success and the Office of Assessment and Accreditation, the Associate Director manages documentation and reporting requirements and ensures alignment with SACSCOC QEP requirements. The Associate Director is responsible for assisting with the campus-wide implementation, promotion, and dissemination of QEP related materials to all relevant constituencies on and off campus.

The Associate Director reports directly to the Senior Director for New Student Transitions and First Year Experience and collaborates with administrators, campus-partners, faculty, and support staff to achieve and evaluate QEP program goals and objectives.

The Quality Enhancement Plan is an integral component of the SACSCOC reaffirmation of accreditation process and is derived from an institution’s ongoing comprehensive planning and evaluation processes. It reflects and affirms a commitment to enhance overall institutional quality and effectiveness by focusing on an issue that the institution considers important to improving student learning outcomes and/or student success. The QEP is a comprehensive decennial review to ensure that the university continues to meet standards of quality.
Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree from a four-year university or college, or a bachelor’s degree with an equivalent amount of education and experience, in the area higher education administration, educational research, academic assessment, or a related field At least three years of professional experience in a college or university working within academic, student success, assessment or student affairs Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with different university constituencies, including faculty, staff, administrators, students, and alumni. Demonstrated attention to detail and effective time management to meet deadlines. Percentage Of Time 35% Key Responsibility Program Management Essential Tasks Provide general oversight, development, and refinement of the QEP implementation, ensuring implementation is sustained through continuous input and participation from students, faculty, staff, and administration. Manage the QEP budget, purchasing decisions and maintain all financial files and records. Prepare and present annual QEP status reports for the QEP Steering Committee, QEP Student Advisory Committee, university leadership, and other relevant constituencies. Percentage Of Time 35% Key Responsibility Outreach and Promotion Essential Tasks Collaborate with a diverse committee composed of faculty members nominated by each dean of the Colleges and Schools, along with administrators and staff from relevant campus areas, including Institutional Research and the Office of Assessment, Accreditation, and Academic Program Planning. Increase awareness of the QEP among students, faculty, and staff by creating marketing materials, organizing workshops and events, and actively engaging with the campus community to ensure widespread understanding and participation. Encourage and support student involvement in the QEP by working closely with student leaders and organizations. Facilitate their active participation in QEP initiatives and empower them to take a leading role in promoting health and wellness on campus. Seek opportunities for collaboration with local community organizations and external partners to broaden the reach and impact of the QEP. This includes organizing joint events, workshops, and community-based partnership initiatives to foster a culture of health and wellness both on and off campus.
