Responsibilities You will perform various tasks in the application of basic principles of engineering and science work. You will apply knowledge of detailed procedures which are either established and repetitive, or which are specified by the supervisor at the time of initial appointment. You will prepare graphs, curves, and tables for other engineers. You will record factual data in tests and observation studies. You will perform drafting and minor detail design. You will search technical reports to obtain information. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, your application must provide sufficient documentation showing you possess the required educational level needed to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. ND-01 Level: You must be currently enrolled in a high school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED) program, or post-high school educational program. ND-02 Level: You must have successfully completed 4 academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education 1) A high school whose curriculum has been approved by a State or local governing body, or a home-school curriculum that has been approved by such a body or a State; and 2) Any of the following educational institutions or curricula that have been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the secretary of the U.S. Department of Education: (i) A technical or vocational school; (ii) A 2-year or 4-year college or university; (iii) A graduate or professional school (e.g., law school, medical school); or (iv) A home-school curriculum. For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you must submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. There are regular and recurring requirements for field work during investigations, testing, production support and embarkation aboard small craft, Naval ships, and aircraft which require a considerable amount of physical activity including climbing, crouching, bending and lifting of approximately 50 lbs.
