Student Worker Program - High Frequency Magnetics Simulation Engineer

Qualifications 

Pursuit of PhD or Master’s degree in power electronics Familiar with isolated dc-dc power converter operating principles Strong fundamentals in magnetics design for power converters Strong knowledge in finite element analysis for high-frequency magnetics Hands-on experience with using EM simulation tool such as Analysis Maxwell Team player who can work in a fast-paced, and multi-disciplinary environment

 

Preferred Qualifications 

Familiarity with power converter circuit simulation

You will be working with the Ford Advanced EV High Voltage Power Electronics Design Team Develop finite element analysis models for inductors and transformers used in onboard charger and dc-dc converters Extract lumped circuit parameters and parasitics from FEA models Develop magnetics core and copper loss calculation in FEA models Develop experimental methods to measure these circuit parameters and temperature rise Match model results with experimental measurement
