**Overview**
The New York Public Library is looking for a talented Studio Associate to join the Technology Training Programs team to support program operations and help New Yorkers achieve their creative ambitions at our recording studio. This position is for someone interested in assisting with the operations of a community studio and contributing to community development through tech education. The ideal candidate will support programs for adult learners of diverse cultures and experiences using the studio to tell their stories creatively.
The Technology Training Programs department offers tech classes in more than 80 libraries across the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island.
**This position is a temporary 1-year part-time position with the possibility of extension.**
**Responsibilities:**
As a Studio Associate, you will
+ Help facilitate studio operations, including such as providing administrative support, coordinating studio schedules, conducting equipment inventory, and participating in studio maintenance/repair projects in tandem with Studio staff
+ Provide one-on-one support to patrons working on projects in the studio, media workstations, or labs
+ Facilitate materials circulation and processing, including equipment and device loans checkout and lending
+ Communicate studio procedures to library patrons, including studio booking, equipment handling, and space use
+ Conduct patron studio assessments as part of the Studio Access Track program and process new library cards, including some data entry
+ As needed, assist with coverage of studio recording sessions
+ Help facilitate educational programming and special events related to studios
+ Support ad hoc projects in tandem with Studio staff
+ Brainstorm media center projects and innovations as part of an adaptive, creative team
**Required Education, Experience & Skills**
**Required Education & Certifications**
+ High School diploma or its equivalent
+ Complete the studio orientation process
**Required Experience**
+ A minimum of one year of relevant experience, education, or aptitude for working with audio, video, or photography production technology and pro-grade equipment.
**Required Skills**
+ Strong interpersonal skills
+ Strong organizational administrative skills including fluency in email and Google Suite. Interest and aptitude to learn new productivity tools and workflows if not familiar: Slack, AirTable, Asana, Notion, Jira, Confluence.
+ Video and audio hardware, including microphones, mixing consoles, HD photo and video cameras, lighting, etc. experience preferred
+ Music Production Software: Experience in Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton, Reaper and/ or Adobe Audition preferred
+ Video Production Software: Experience in Adobe Premiere, iMovie, and/or Media Encoder preferred.
+ Graphic Design & Photography: Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and/or AfterEffects preferred
+ Experience in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, OSX, iOS, Android and/ or Windows applications preferred
