Studio Engineer - Associate - PSP
Job Summary:
Our client in Windsor, ON is looking for an Studio Engineer - Associate - PSP. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
Manage packaging criteria and bogey (rough start) models to support feasible CDD (Conceptual Digital Data) surface development for BIW and Exterior systems. Support PDO (Product Design Office) clay properties (for theme development), mock-ups and property builds, while coordinating with PDO fabrication and modeling departments. Provide milling/SLA data for rapid prototype part development. Chair weekly Exterior working level meetings, managing cross functional team requirements (Stamping, Manufacturing Engineering, Vehicle Integration/Development, Human Machine Interface (HMI), Safety Development, & Body, Chassis, Interior, and Wiring teams).Complete Exterior Construction Sections and manage approval process to support CDD Style Freeze release (Gap & Flush/build objectives), while challenging engineering requirements to achieve PDO esthetic. Verify CDD study/official releases meet Vehicle Hardpoints, packaging, tooling requirements and PDO theme.Present/support weekly PDO Exterior Coordination meetings, ensuring Series Card Plan of Record content is aligned with PDO theme and is captured in program cost loops/Visual Bills of Material, and when content misalignment occurs - escalate to sr. management for decision. Conduct competitive benchmarking assessments, understanding future trends and technologies.Basics:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or other degrees and educational credentials in combination with relevant engineering experience may be considered
A minimum of 1 year of relevant automotive experience preferred, will consider recent college graduates with a BSME degree.
CAD designer that can perform the following:
o Ability to develop 2D section proposals.
o Ability to create 3D modeling properties/mockups & Engineering counter proposals.
o Multi task (support several programs simultaneously).
o GD&T knowledge (challenging Best Practice clearance requirements).
Remote with some travel to the US for meetings.
Must live in Windsor Area.
