**DESCRIPTION** We are looking for a talented **Driveline Engineering Student to Work** to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Troy , MI. **In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:** 1. **Enhancing Design Accuracy** : By supporting engineers and designers with layout and drawing modifications, you'll ensure precision and quality in component designs. 2. **Optimizing Component Fit** : Creating clearance layouts for static and dynamic components will help in identifying and resolving potential fit issues early in the design process. 3. **Ensuring Dimensional Integrity** : Calculating dimensional stack-ups will ensure that all components fit together correctly, maintaining the integrity of the overall design. 4. **Providing In-Depth Analysis** : Your engineering analysis and reports will offer valuable insights for improving existing components and developing new ones. 5. **Supporting Laboratory Testing** : Hands-on support in the lab will be crucial for testing and developing components, ensuring they meet required standards and specifications. 6. **Creating Detailed Drawings** : Producing 2-D CAD drawings and 3-D models will support design change requests (DCRs) and product change control requests (PCCRs), facilitating smooth project progression. 7. **Improving Product Development** : Your contributions will streamline the product development process, leading to more efficient and effective outcomes. 8. **Collaborating Across Teams** : Working closely with project and product engineers, designers, and lab technicians will foster a collaborative environment, driving innovation and success. **RESPONSIBILITIES** **To be successful in this role you will need the following:** 1. **Thinks Conceptually / Intuitively** : Develop the ability to see the big picture and understand how different components fit together.
