Axient is seeking a fixed wing Drone sUAS Pilot with Design and Fabrication skills to join our team at The Dale Reed Subscale Flight research Lab at NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center on Edwards AFB in California.
Responsibilities would include integration, operation, and maintenance of a fleet of sUAS up to 330 lbs. Other duties include developing checklists and procedures, giving briefs and airworthiness approvals, and design and fabrication of parts and airframes. This is a fast-moving agile environment, and the ideal candidate should meet most of the qualifications below.
What you will do...You will perform (small) unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) flight operations, flight operations support,
and sUAS engineering technical (design/analysis/engineering) duties.
Piloting remotely controlled/unmanned aircraft.Safety supporting flight ops of previous UAV, UAS or sUAS flight in laboratory and field conditionsfabricating, integrating, testing, and maintaining subscale unmanned aircraftOperating various types of UAS via hand control station, ground station/cockpit and or buddy box configurationsGas and turbine engine maintenance and operation Skills you will need...Must be a US citizen and eligible for a clearance8-10 years minimum Bachelor of Science/engineering (BS) Must be able to pass FAA 3rd class medical requirementsAbove average fixed wing drone piloting skills with Design and Fabrication exp.Heavy (50+ lbs.), fast (150+ mph), competition aerobatics, turbine etc. Prior UAS experience integration, operation, and ground control desiredComposite construction, hollow molding, plug making, vacuum bagging etc.CAD and solid modeling desiredMechanical or Aero degree a plusFAA Part 107 a plus Options APPLY HEREApplyShareEmail this job to a friendRefer <p style="margin: 0px;">We apologize, but an error occurred with Share function.
