SUB-MARKET LEAD

The person in this role will work with the high-performance product, process and R&D team and drive innovative solutions that Carpenter offers to the market. The position interacts with the top automotive, commercial vehicle OEM and Tier 1’s for powertrain, chassis.  If you are a creative and energetic individual who wishes to work in high performance team then please reach out to us.  The position involves direct exposure to the top executives for driving company strategy.

The person will own the business development associated with the automotive and commercial vehicle markets.  Responsible for ensuring organic growth, strategy development and execution, and new business pipeline execution.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SUB-MARKET LEAD

Develop deep understanding of market needs and direct overall Carpenter efforts related to sub-market.Develop and drive plans to maintain Carpenter's current market share and sources of businessDevelop deep understanding of the market and Carpenter's relative positioningDevelop, manage and execute market growth strategies and plansUnderstand and capitalize on market & customer trends and business driversDetermine requirements to secure growth, develop business cases, and create & execute growth plansManage knowledge associated with market analysis and competitive intelligence collected by outside sales, inside sales, customer service and marketingForecast forward revenue expectations and projected growthMake pricing decisions based on value-based pricing and knowledge of competitors and substitutes in marketUnderstand common alloys used in sub-market, and advocate for new alloys with relevance in sub-market with new product developmentManage business development within Carpenter’s powder products portfolio for automotive applications.With Marketing, Sales and Customer Service, develop and disseminate training to Sales and CSRs on relative value proposition, product applications, and customer usesWith Key Account Managers, develops specific account plansCultivate relationships at middle management and executive levels at OEMs to communicate the Carpenter value proposition.Lead cross functional teams on Stage Gate development projects.Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE SUB-MARKET LEAD
