A "Day in the Life" of the Subcontractor Business Consultant

As a Subcontractor Business Consultant, your day will be dynamic and focused on building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors while ensuring operational efficiency across multiple regions. You will be the primary point of contact for managing and supporting the subcontractor network, ensuring that each division has the right subcontractors in place to meet client needs.

Overview of Responsibilities

From the initial point of contact, you’ll guide subcontractors through the onboarding process, ensuring they understand all requirements and expectations for working with us. Maintain ongoing, positive relationships with subcontractors, providing support as needed and ensuring satisfaction and performance alignment. You’ll monitor the performance of subcontractors and manage the efficiency of ticket resolutions. Help manage subcontractor pricing for various services such as landscaping and snow removal, ensuring we stay competitive while maintaining profitability. Utilize HubSpot for managing relationships and communications, MS Office for documentation and reporting, and Power BI for analyzing performance data and trends. You will proactively identify areas where there are gaps in subcontractor coverage. Navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing changing demands, subcontractor needs, and service requirements while maintaining high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence subcontractors and internal teams at all levels.. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address performance issues, resolve conflicts, and implement solutions effectively. Proficiency with CRM and project management tools such as HubSpot, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Power BI. Familiarity with pricing strategies and contract management, particularly in industries like landscaping, snow removal, or other service-based sectors is a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple regions or territories, working cross-functionally with various teams to ensure operational efficiency. Experience in subcontractor or vendor relationship management, with a track record of successfully onboarding and supporting subcontractors is a plus.
