A week in the life of the Subject Matter Expert (Data Development) includes:

Assist a software development team in developing an advanced synthetic training environment to support military pilot training.   Apply tactical knowledge to support the development of entity models. Perform TechELINT analysis on complex waveforms associated with a wide range of red and blue force systems. Develop and refine simulation presentation of real-world ELINT parametric data. Perform signal translation of waveform data into a descriptive and behavioral modeling & simulation language for Development and Test. Perform threat system analysis and sensor modeling of radars, electronic warfare (EW) systems, countermeasures, electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) systems, and various weapons. Conducts specific sensor research, analysis, correlation, and assessment in order to reproduce the sensor as a software model through a suite of NGTS data editing tools. Participate in software test activities to include test procedure creation and test plan development. Understand and discuss simulation requirements with the customers, document and track these requirements, and provide technical input to modelers with regards to fidelity, accuracy, and intended use Act as liaison with aircrew and program leads.
