As the Submarine Escape & Rescue Research & Development Manager part of Team Submarine, located in Washington, DC, you will support Submarine Escape and Rescue (SER) systems in the Undersea Special Mission Systems program office (PMS390) at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC.  Serco supports PMS390 with acquisition and program management support in the area of deep submergence systems to the customer, a defense acquisition program management office which is responsible for the technical development, acquisition modernization, and sustainment of critical Navy systems. You will be expected to bring your drive, and collaborative skills to make a positive impact supporting our military and the safety of our Sailors.

 

Serco North America (Serco-NA) supports the US Navy for their Team Submarine contract in the maintenance, sustainment, and disposal of in-service submarines. The Team Submarine concept unifies diverse submarine-related activities into a single submarine-centric organization with the goal of eliminating traditional stovepipe structures and processes in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides improved communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force.

In this role you will:

Provide overall program management oversight to manage tasks across all areas of technical performance, schedule, quality and cost, prepare and track spend plans, etc.Create detailed project management schedules for Science & Technology (S&T) and R&D programs and develop strategies for alignment with the program office and TEAM SUB objectives.Develop technical documentation, R&D briefs, technology roadmaps, and notional requirements documents.Generate acquisition documentation for Milestone Reviews.Provide assessments on relevant cost, schedule, and risk factors.Coordinate and interface with NAVSEA customer, industry and government partners, and other project stakeholders. Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A current or active Secret clearanceU.S. Citizenship Bachelor's DegreeHigh School Diploma/GED and 4 additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree5 years of experienceMicrosoft skills are essential, especially Excel and PowerPointAbility to work both in a team environment and independently, and often under short, multiple deadlinesAbility to travel up to 25% of the timeEffective communication skills, both written and oral.Customer-oriented and a team player.

Additional desired experience and skills:

Recent experience in Team SubmarineExperience with Deep Submergence Systems (DSS)Experience in the Navy and specifically within Team Submarine or on-board submarines

In compliance with the District of Columbia’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $78,073.24 to $130,122.06; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
