Job Description

About the Role:

Are you ready to be a part of a dynamic team that ensures the seamless operation of advanced industrial equipment? As a key member of our MAGMA team, you'll be at the forefront of managing the submerged combustion melter. Your role will encompass organizing and executing startup, operation, and shutdown activities, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

You'll work in shifts to guarantee uninterrupted operation of the submerged combustion melting machine, the finer, the forehearth, and the support systems, including exhaust, cooling, and batch systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Fusion Process Monitoring: Keep a close eye on the fusion process and make adjustments as needed.Alarm Response: Act quickly to alarms, identifying and correcting malfunctions or escalating to supervision when necessary.Equipment Maintenance: Troubleshoot and correct minor issues with industrial equipment, and carry out routine preventive maintenance.Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks and accurately enter data into the quality spreadsheet.Team Collaboration: Work with fellow operators on non-routine tasks related to start-ups and shut-downs.Reporting: Produce precise system status reports as requested.Process Improvement: Use your analytical skills to propose and implement process improvements.Daily Maintenance: Maintain a clean working environment through daily line cleaning.Feeding Process Monitoring: Oversee the feeding process and respond to alarms as required.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 20% travel to other O-I/MAGMA facilities may be required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing or production is preferred.Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with high-temperature industrial processes and controls.Software Skills: Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Bonus Skills: Electromechanical experience is a plus.Communication: Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are essential.

What we offer at O-I?

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $81,200 USD. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
