Frontier-Kemper-Tutor Perini joint venture was awarded the Manhattan Tunnel Project, part of the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). A $1.18 billion design-build contract from the Gateway Development Commission for the HTP which aims to enhance rail resiliency by adding two new tracks between New York and New Jersey and rehabilitating the storm-damaged North River Tunnel. The project includes designing and constructing twin 30-foot diameter, 700-foot-long tunnels under the Hudson River, connecting to existing tunnels beneath Hudson Yards, and an access shaft at 12th Avenue, later serving as a ventilation facility.

DESCRIPTION:
As a Submittals Engineer at Frontier-Kemper, reporting to the Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:
Prepare, review, and submit project submittals, including material samples, shop drawings, technical data, and compliance documents.
Ensure submittals meet project specifications and contract requirements.
Identify potential issues in submittals and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to gather necessary documentation.
Act as a liaison between contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure timely approval and submission of documents.
Collaborate with design teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Communicate with stakeholders to track the progress of submittals and address any delays.
REQUIREMENTS:
Prior experience in submittal processes within construction or engineering.
Experience in large heavy civil infrastructure projects in dense urban setting with public sector clients is a plus.
Experience with project management and document control software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam or Kahua).
Strong ability to manage multiple submittals simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented approach to reviewing and verifying technical documents.
***Expected salary range for this position is $130,000 – $160,000 depending upon experience***
