The anticipated salary range for this role is between $150,000.00 and $200,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
Role DescriptionPortfolio and analytical support to the senior level members of the Subscription Secured Finance Department ("SSFD"). Preparation of credit applications, reviewing quarterly loan reports, conducting regular credit reviews of loans in the portfolio, providing research and analytics, and assisting marketing staff in preparing client materials and other portfolio administrative tasks, as required.
Reporting to senior front office members of SSFD, scope of responsibilities includes assisting in deal origination and pitching, debt arranging, deal monitoring and supporting the Bank's syndication department. Assisting in subscription facilities related to capital commitment fund financing across all geographies and across strategic sectors including buyout, real estate, debt and energy and infrastructure, among others as well as other fund business.
The job responsibilities are described herein:
Provide support in executing transactions from origination to execution, including building and maintaining financial models and actively monitoring client portfolio on an ongoing basis Prepare credit applications, borrower rating applications and annual/quarterly client reviews. Support due diligence process and participate in the administrative aspects of deal execution. Monitor and evaluate current events related to the fund finance industry Assist in the creation of internal reports, including those reports relating to exposure, budget and inventory Work with relationship managers to prepare pitch books/term sheet related to client marketing Participate in marketing activity and client relationship building Qualifications and Skills Strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills, including acquisition financing modelling. Developed knowledge of corporate finance and accounting, and experience analyzing company financials. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects. Ability to execute transactions from beginning to end with minimum supervision. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
