Substance Abuse Supervisor

At the **North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio** , our foundation is based upon the philosophies of caring about others, giving back, and making a social impact. We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping an at-risk population receive the treatment necessary for success on their road back to a healthy, productive life. **Essential Duties:** 1. Develop and implement a system to promote the coordination and integration of the substance abuse prevention education components with other facility programs. 2. Assist inmates in self-assessment and identification of substance abuse problems; develop and implement a plan to encourage abstinence by working with inmates, counselors, instructors, and the mental health consultant, as appropriate. 3. Ensure the documentation of all assessments and plans are in inmate medical records regarding substance abuse problems. 4. Provide ongoing comprehensive training for all staff members in the substance abuse area with specific goals toward staff education and awareness, staff development of skills in identification and in reporting substance abuse problems, individual staff member counseling skills and general team building throughout the facility. 5. Assist in providing substance abuse related materials and information in the health education program and development of health services standing orders and facility operating procedures regarding substance abuse. 6. Recruit and coordinate participation and involvement of free world volunteers in programming and/or conduct self-help meetings. 7. Conduct substance abuse and tobacco cessation classes, group educational, peer support and other prevention sessions for inmates/staff. 8. Encourage awareness of substance abuse issues throughout the facility. **Qualifications:** + Must hold current certification or credentials in one of the following: Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC); Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW); Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC); or Other, as indicated by Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS) standards. + Two (2) years related experience preferred with one year of supervisory experience. + A valid driver’s license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management. + Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
