We have an exciting opportunity for a Tobacco Addiction Nurse to join our growing multi-disciplinary team. Our Nurses play an integral part in Change Grow Lives mission to help people change the direction of their lives, grow as individuals, and live life to its full potential. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, they offer specialist clinical interventions to people who use our services.

 

Supporting the delivery and development of the Tobacco Addiction Service, you will be working closely with the nurse manager and team, sub-contractors, and partners to successfully meet the key service outcomes, aims and objectives. You will be given a combination of face to face and e-learning training provided by The National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) which will include speciality modules for Pregnancy and Mental Health. Motivational Interviewing training will also be provided.

Hours: Full Tune, 37.5 hours per week

Full Time Salary: £36,635.38 - £42,743.46 dependent on experience, pro rata

About the role:

Promote the benefits of stopping smoking and the tobacco addiction service through a variety of mechanisms to identified agencies and organisations via a range of venues and eventsProvide support via 1:1 session, groups, drop in and telephone support to service users wishing to become smoke freeUndertake assessments, plan and deliver tobacco addiction interventions, which will include, nicotine replacement therapies and Work under PGDs in order to administer or supply pharmacotherapy optionsUndertake and Provide training and intervention across a variety of settings to targeted groupsDevelop therapeutic alliances with people who require tobacco addiction interventionsBuild effective partnership working across the delivery localityUndertake risk assessments and contribute to risk management plans as appropriate in the serviceRecord and input client data and information in order that the service operates within contractual, administrative, and financial requirementsEnsure all assessment and interventions are recorded and monitored through the Quit Manager data system

About you:

First level registered nurse with recent relevant post qualification experience and a current PIN. (We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses)Be a non-medical prescriber (or willingness to undertake)Have a sound and demonstrable knowledge of working within PGDsWilling to undertake specific Tobacco addiction training as requiredExperience of contributing to project developmentKnowledge of Motivational interviewing techniques and behaviour changeAbility to assess and formulate treatment plans with service users and formulate written reports as necessaryCommunicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writingPractise in a compassionate, respectful way, maintaining dignity and wellbeing and communicating effectivelyRespond flexibly to the demands of the post
