What you will be doing?
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Fitness Instructor to lead classes focused on physical fitness, yoga, strength training, and overall health and wellness for individuals in an inpatient substance use treatment program. The role will involve designing and delivering a variety of fitness sessions that are accessible and beneficial for individuals in recovery, with an emphasis on promoting mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
As a Fitness Instructor, you will work directly with clients in a supportive and encouraging environment, helping them regain confidence, improve their health, and build strength in their journey to recovery. Classes will include yoga, floor fitness, beginner workouts, strength training, and other wellness activities tailored to meet the needs of participants at varying levels of fitness.
What tasks are required?
+ Job Type: Full-time or 1099 Independent Contractor
+ Lead fitness classes (yoga, strength training, floor fitness, beginner workouts) for individuals in substance use treatment.
+ Create and modify class routines to accommodate the physical and emotional needs of clients.
+ Foster a positive, supportive, and motivating atmosphere to encourage active participation.
+ Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure that fitness programming aligns with the goals of the treatment program.
+ Provide individual or group coaching to clients as needed.
+ Educate clients on the benefits of physical fitness and wellness, particularly in relation to recovery.
+ Maintain accurate records of attendance and participation.
+ Ensure safety standards are met in all physical activities.
+ Participate in team meetings or trainings as required.
+ Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with clients.
What we need from you?
Qualifications:
For 1099 Independent Contractor:
+ Must carry their own professional liability insurance.
+ Proven experience and training in teaching fitness classes, with specific expertise in yoga, strength training, and beginner-level fitness.
+ Certification in fitness training (such as NASM, ACE, Yoga Alliance, or equivalent) required.
+ Ability to adapt exercises for various fitness levels, especially for individuals in recovery.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient demeanor.
+ Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
For W2 Employee:
+ Proven experience and training in teaching fitness classes, with specific expertise in yoga, strength training, and beginner-level fitness.
+ Certification in fitness training (such as NASM, ACE, Yoga Alliance, or equivalent) required.
+ Ability to adapt exercises for various fitness levels, especially for individuals in recovery.
+ Strong communication skills, able to work collaboratively with treatment staff.
+ Compassionate and supportive attitude toward clients in treatment.
