HDR is looking for a Substation CADD Technician to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals in Western Canada.

The successful candidate will be a part of a team that provides CADD and technical design support for large- and small-scale engineering projects across Canada and the United States. This is an excellent growth opportunity for a self-directed individual who wants to learn and take on new challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Substation CADD Technician, we'll count on you to:

Prepare substation related drawings such as plan and elevation views, control building details, grading plans, foundation details, grounding and conduit plans, control wiring schematic diagrams, and other related drawings.Provide technical design and support for large- and small-scale engineering projects.Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Associate or technical school degree, or AutoCAD or MicroStation certification, or combination of education and relevant experience.A minimum of 3 years of experience developing substation CADD layouts/designs from engineering designs.Electrical utility or similar design experience preferred.· Ability to work closely with engineering staff, both local and in remote offices.Required Qualifications
Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructureCompetency of Microsoft Office products and communication toolsExcellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essentialBasic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.). The pay range for Vancouver, BC is: $47,000 - $68,000.
