About this Role

The Substation Engineer will be responsible for leading and/or providing assistance with substation design activities, both individually and collaboratively. This position entails collaboration with a team of engineers and designers to ensure that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with all pertinent regulations and standards. The ideal candidate should possess a solid foundation in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, and possess expertise in high voltage substation projects.

What You'll Do Engineer projects from inception to completion, including planning, design, permitting, construction support, and closeout. Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for electrical substations. Electrical engineering: design, equipment sizing, component specificationsAssisting with site plan development and civil requirementsResponsible for drafting and assisting the drafting department What You'll Bring Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing detailed engineering for high voltage substation projects.Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) or graduate degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.P.E. license preferred but not requiredDemonstrated experience supporting external customers.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
