Substation Drafter Job Summary

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Orlando, Florida office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (candidate must live within driving distance to the office).

Responsibilities Assist with drafting and design tasks for substation projects, including physical and civil layout drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams Develop proficiency in CAD software while adhering to client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with project expectations Learn and apply POWER’s standards, procedures, and processes in project execution Collaborate with team members to resolve design challenges and seek guidance from experienced professionals Demonstrate initiative and attention to detail in assigned tasks Required Education/Experience Associate’s degree or technical certification in drafting, or equivalent industry experience Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, ideally in an engineering environment Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members. Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship Desired Education/Experience Knowledge of substation electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and/or substation physical/civil drawings Experience using Autodesk Raster Design and Bentley Descartes Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Strong mathematical skills and experience working with scaled drawings Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and accountable for assigned responsibilities Experience with ProjectWise File Management System
