POWER Engineers is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer with substantial experience in substation protection and control (P&C) design. This position is in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Boston office located in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).
Roles and ResponsibilitiesPerform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substationsPerform detailed design of one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project schedulingOccasional travel will be requiredRequired Education/ExperienceAbility to function as a Substation P&C Design Engineer in our Boston office located in Foxborough, MassachusettsBSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) degree or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) from an accredited university, preferably with a power optionExperience in 15kV through 230kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standardsExperience in managing small project teamsExperience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrently5+ years experience in utility substation design as outlined aboveThe candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnelCandidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorshipDesired Education/ExperienceExperience in 230kV through 500kV substation design10+ years experience in utility substation design as outlined aboveRegistered Engineer In Training (EIT) or licensed Professional Engineer (PE)At POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
