POWER Engineers is currently seeking a Substation Project Lead/Project Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Columbus office located in New Albany, Ohio. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).
Responsibilities Manage relationships with alliance clients Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations including one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling Ensure POWER quality procedures are followed Perform QA/QC for deliverables to clients Manage schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects Occasional travel will be required Required Education/Experience Ability to function as a Substation Project Lead/Project Engineer in the Columbus office of our Substation Business Unit Experience in 15kV through 138kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards Experience filling the role of project lead for several projects occurring concurrently The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel Candidate must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship Desired Education/Experience Experience in 230 kV through 500kV substation design Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a relevant technology Ten (10) or more years experience in utility substation design is a plus Experience in managing 3-5 people on a project teamAt POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
