POWER Constructors, Inc. is currently seeking a Substation/Renewables Inspector. This position will be primarily responsible for performing inspections on Substations and Renewable projects to include, Solar, Wind and BESS. This position may be up to 100% travel. POWER will provide mobilization to and from the project. Work will be conducted in the lower 48 states of the United States.
Required Education/Experience The successful candidate will have 10+ years of active field experience, computer skills (to properly fill out daily and weekly reports) and be capable of photo documentation with working knowledge of Word Excel and Adobe Acrobat. 7+ years of field experience and 3 years in a lead/supervisory role is preferred. Travel requirement is based on project location. Desired Education/Experience Knowledge of Transmission line terminations including, foundations and stringing of conductors. Knowledge of Transmission and Distribution Substations with strong knowledge of Substation control house facilities, are all strongly preferred. Knowledge of renewable installations such as Wind, Solar or BESS installations. Combination of Substation/Wind, Substation/Solar, Substation/BESS are all strongly preferred. Physical Requirements Included but not limited to: This job may require you to work up to 12 hr. days, 5 to 6 days a week if project requires. Able and willing to travel and stay for a minimum of 6 weeks at a time for a project. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions for up to 12hrs a day. Must be able to wear company-provided PPE for the entire shift while onsite. Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. or more at any given time throughout the day. Must be able to walk on average 3 to 5 miles per day across rough terrain and/or unlevel surfaces. Ability to step in and out of a 3/4-ton pickup truck several times a day. Required Skills Must have current and valid driver’s license. Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications and comparing with the customer or engineers’ standards. Combined in the below statement. Proficient in both verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate well with others at all levels of the organization. Will prepare detailed reports and present to the customer in an organized, clear, and concise manner each day. Observe work for conformance per the engineered drawings and document non-conformance on your daily report and report non-conforming items to the contactor performing the work. Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $50k - $130k per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
