Substitute Teacher
Primary Professional Function The Substitute Teacher is responsible for carrying out lesson plans and classroom procedures, as set forth by the Teacher, in an engaging and meaningful way. The Substitute Teacher will ensure a quality learning experience to all children in his/her care. The Substitute Teacher must possess the knowledge and theoretical grounding necessary to instruct the Elementary or Middle School student, utilizing age-appropriate methods, strategies and procedures. Qualifications Qualifications and Requirements + Required Bachelor’s Degree in either Education or a specific academic discipline + Preferred Master’s Degree in Teaching or Curriculum + Required current State of Illinois Teaching Certificate Type 03/Type 09 + Comply with the Archiodese of Chicago Protecting God’s Children Requirements (Background Screening, Fingerprinting, VIRTUS Training, CANTS, Code of Conduct) + Middle School substitutes must have the ability to teach effectively within the Block Scheduling model (90 minute classes) + Ability to teach courses within a Religion Curriculum either Catholic or Interfaith in subject matter + Proficient in the use of Microsoft suite + TB test Compensation and Benefits FXW offers a competitive salary and robust benefits program, commensurate with experience and consistent with independent schools.
