Position Overview
Lumentum’s Ottawa, Canada location builds optical components and subsystems using state-of-the-art optical technology. You will be part of a nimble and fast-moving production team that will be providing high quality product to many of the world’s top automotive manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
The Production Assembler responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:
Performs a wide variety of product assembly operations on electronic, mechanical, and optical components, assemblies, or sub-assemblies.Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in tasks related to optical fiber handling and management, optical component placement, UV curing, wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and making cable assemblies.Responsible for maintaining quality standards by inspecting and testing finished products to ensure conformance with specifications and codes. Work with engineering and production teamsUse sophisticated programs to track and control components through the production process.Core Skills
Excellent motor skills for fine assembly.Ability to detect defects in optical, mechanical, and electrical parts.Experience with handling and cleaning free space optics and fiber optics.Familiar with optical fiber splicing, handling, and testingFamiliarity with cleanroom practices (cleanliness level ISO-5).Familiar with ESD protocolsStrong written and verbal English communication skills.Ability to carefully follow instructions/manuals.Excellent attention to detail and organization.Capability to work independently.Familiarity with PCB designs and component technologies would be an asset.Education Qualifications
