Highlights of the job

We are hiring a part time, temporary (up to 4 months) Summer Student, Talent Development position working out of Edmonton, AB, with an anticipated start date in March.

 

The Student, Talent Development works closely with and supports a team of Talent Development Consultants and is accountable for assisting with researching and extracting information required to create resources and tools to support the development and integration of EPCOR’s leadership competencies.

What you’d be responsible forConducting research to update documents relevant to Talent Development’s processes, programs, resources guides and internal reference pagesExtracting information and placing in appropriate documents with exceptional attention to detail for data entryMaintaining confidentiality when handling information around employee succession planning, employee performance and potential and the results of psychometric assessmentsProviding input to the Consultant, Learning & Development plans and directions, and ensure on-going appropriate relationships with other positionsEnsuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics including meeting customer expectations and on-time delivery of accountabilitiesUsing a variety of innovative and creative virtual or in-person tools and delivery methods to support and enable the delivery of leadership and professional development programming. This may include updating and rebranding materials and resources.Ensuring that Talent Development programs achieve desired results. Developing and tracking metrics to make recommendations for EPCOR leadership development initiatives. Interfacing with EPCOR employees to ensure Talent Development programs and objectives are achieved.Continually identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to improve upon current business operationsNurturing and supporting a respected internal learning and employment brand that is inclusive and learner centered. Supporting the development of learning programs and leadership experiences that create deep understanding and shift behaviour in the interest of creating a people centered culture that is focused on belonging, learning, growth and high performance.What’s required to be successfulHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent level of secondary education.Currently enrolled in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution. Enrollment in a Business, Education or Psychology related program would be an asset.Knowledge of SharePoint and MS Office suite of programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).Practical understanding of application and approaches for learning, departmental planning, organizational design, leadership development and coaching.Proficient in collaborating with customers and stakeholders with different leadership and communication styles and preferences.Ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality and maintain credibility with people at all levels of the organization.Ability to synthesize information & edit documents.Excellent researching, time management, organization, and analytical skills; and great attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English.Focuses on continuous improvement while remaining adaptable and open to feedback.Other important facts about this job
