We are hiring up to two (2) Co-op Student positions working out of Canmore, AB, to work with our Distribution and Collection Team!

 

Position: Summer Student, Water Distribution and Collection

Term: Up to 5 months (starting May 2025)

Year:3rd, 4th or 5th Term Students preferred

Discipline:Water and Wastewater Technician Program or equivalent preferred

What you’d be responsible for

 

The accountabilities of the Water Plant Operator include, but are not limited to:

Ensuring the safe operation of plant equipment, setting, and monitoring chemical feed rates.Operating the distribution and process computers and performing established water quality tests.Updating and maintaining documentation and logs pertaining to tests and processes.Correcting minor operating problems and performing other related duties as required and/or assigned.

 

What’s required to be successful

 

High school diploma, GED or equivalent level of secondary education.Currently enrolled in a Water and Wastewater Technician program or an equivalent program.Valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator's License (with 6 demerits or less). A Driver Abstract will be required. Able to meet the physical demands of the position. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing will be required.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook.The successful candidate must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Hours of work: 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday

Wage: $26.79 per hour
