**Position Summary**
We are seeking an intern to join our Informatics and Predictive Science (IPS) team on the CAR T therapy program to investigate modeling methods focused on longitudinal biomarker data. We have collected extensive translational and clinical data spanning markers of pharmacodynamic response (quality and quantity of CAR T expansion), tumor biology, and patient health characteristics. We are looking for an intern to develop and/or test methodologies to analyze complex longitudinal biomarkers to inform our understanding of the mechanisms of resistance of the treatment.
We are looking for an intern to review existing machine learning algorithms to identify meaningful subgroups of patients based on longitudinal data. They will compare different methods using defined evaluation measures such as clinical response, time to progression, durable response, and safety events. Additionally, they will be involved in documenting the review and development processes.
The successful intern will gain experience in cutting-edge drug development processes, an understanding of the impact of exploratory biomarker analysis, and knowledge of CAR T therapy. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, has strong analytical skills, and is eager to learn. The intern will gain hands-on experience in computational research and contribute to the development of a novel cancer treatment.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Review and evaluate existing machine learning algorithms to identify meaningful subgroups of patients based on longitudinal data.
+ Harmonize different clinical and translational data from multiple programs
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biologists, data scientists, and clinicians, to interpret results and refine analytical approaches
+ Document the review and development processes, ensuring clarity and reproducibility and present finding and interpretations to stake holders.
**Qualifications & Experience**
+ Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program in computer science, statistics, bioinformatics or a similar field
+ Experience with predictive computational methods
+ Good programming skills using scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) and notebooks (e.g. R markdown, Jupyter notebook) as well as common statistical frameworks
+ Must be able to work full-time for the program duration
+ Excellent verbal and communication skills
The starting compensation for this job is a range from $30.00/hour - $43.00/hour. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and the geographic location where work is performed. Final individual compensation is decided commensurate with demonstrated experience and education level.
