POSITION TITLE: Summer 2025 - Cybersecurity Internship
POSITION SUMMARY:
Participate in the analysis, design, engineering, testing, documentation, implementation, maintenance, operation and functionality for Cybersecurity systems, tools and security controls. Learn and use related Cybersecurity controls and tools, as well as the support of business system users.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exposure to Cybersecurity controls including but not limited to Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Data Leakage Protection (DLP), Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Vulnerability Management Support Cybersecurity systems, tools and security controls in our Data Center environments and/or Public Cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Support systems and software for Cybersecurity tools and compliance, system installations, upgrades, backups, administration and configuration, disaster recovery, security configuration, patching, system connectivity and system interoperability Maintain System lifecycle components such as licensing, capacity, system inventory and end of life timeframes Implementation and support of new software or hardware components for infrastructure including Cloud services Assist Cybersecurity team members with day-to-day activities Shadow Cybersecurity team members across different domains of expertise, including: Security Operations, Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC), Security Architecture, Disaster Recovery, and Asset Management Assist with Cybersecurity audits for various platforms to confirm compliance with policies and standards Evaluate overall system requirements for performance, availability, interoperability, utilization and reliability Communicate task/project status to project leader and manages interdependencies Maintain and update system standards, procedures, policy and other documentation Develop an in-depth knowledge of installed technology for assigned technology infrastructure area(s) Potential to participate in off-hour support and system maintenance activities Other duties, tasks and projects as assigned
INTERNSHIP DETAILS:
The internship will be 10 weeks from May, 27th 2025 until August, 1st 2025 Each intern will be considered seasonal/temporary in nature Each Intern will be assigned a Coach & Mentor to guide them through their experience Each Intern will be assigned a project which will be presented to AEO Management at the conclusion of the Internship Relocation assistance provided to be local & work at the AEO Pittsburgh, PA Corporate HQ
TRAINING OVERVIEW:
Opportunities to learn about different areas of the Technology business On-the-Job training with assignments guided by an individual Mentor Classroom learning Roundtables with top level executives Midpoint and final self-evaluations to understand progress throughout program Pre-planned events around Pittsburgh to get to know the city that AEO loves to call home!
QUALIFICATIONS:
Students are eligible after they have completed their junior year at a 4 year college or university Preferred majors include a Technology related degree – Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Innovation, Product Management etc. Minimum 3.0 GPA required Strong organizational, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting High degree of proficiency in the Google collaborative suitePAY/BENEFITS INFORMATION: Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
