Summer 2025 - Early Careers: Actuarial and Commercial Risk Internships Does a dynamic, fast paced learning environment motivate you every day? We are currently seeking curious, purpose driven, dynamic thinking students who have passion for solving our clients most complex problems. We are looking for an Actuarial intern in Calgary, and Commercial Risk interns for both Calgary and Edmonton. These will be hybrid positions that offer a mix of both in-person and virtual work. Applicants must be enrolled at a university or college, and must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit. Applicants must be available for the whole duration or the internship: from May 5th to August 29th, 2025. How this opportunity is different You will get the opportunity to support and advise on a range of projects with focus on assessment, quantification, and response strategies for enterprise risks. You will be tasked with gathering pertinent information and contributing to the development of valuable solutions that apply data to inform client action plans. You will support and work together with various teams and support business operations as well as gaining an understanding of working in an environment dedicated to exceeding client expectations and delivering products and services distinct to unique client needs. But also: 4 months paid program; Challenging work on significant client projects; Weekly global roundtables with Aon business leaders; One on one internship mentoring; Networking opportunities with Aon colleagues and other students across the Canada, the US & UK; Formal and informal feedback throughout the program. What the day will look like Depending on the type of role and associated business line, your tasks may include, but not be limited to the following: Conduct analyses, claims analyses, costings, projections, and periodic experience updates as required to assist in the actuarial management of clients’ insurance programs; Perform market reviews and benchmarks to meet the evolving business needs of our clients; Perform tasks as requested around filings, auto manual, and other ad-hoc projects; Providing analytical support in servicing mid to large corporate accounts; Maintaining a variety of Excel-based actuarial tools; Reviewing contracts and financial statements; Writing reports and correspondence; Assist in analytic projects such as risk simulations based projects; Accurate data entry and attention to detail; Entering client and insurer information in an accurate and timely manner (if required); Producing documents, endorsements, invoices and letters (if required); Filing, policy tracking/recording, and entry into 3rd party accounting systems; Maintaining quality controls and checking work for accuracy; Escalating, as required, complex/difficult processing issues to the appropriate team leader; Other projects as deemed required. Skills and experience that will lead to success Demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills in developing solutions for complex client/business issues; Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written with both internal and external clients; Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision; Must have strong digital literacy and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package. Competent keyboarding, computer and data entry skills; Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize under pressure to meet deadlines. Education: Students should be enrolled in Risk Management, Economics, Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Finance, Insurance or other relevant field; Applicants should preferably be in 2nd year or above.
