This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the hardware, optimizing performance, and writing clean, efficient code that others build on.What you’ll doWrite and maintain C code that forms the backbone of our infrastructure stack.Develop basic system utilities, libraries, and abstractions used throughout the product.Work on memory management, file I/O, IPC, and other OS-level interactions.Assist in building and refining tools for automation, monitoring, and diagnostics.Optimize code for performance, portability, and maintainability.Contribute to internal documentation and technical standards.Who You AreStrong understanding of C programming and computer architecture basics.Comfortable working in a Linux environment (shell, Makefiles, GCC/Clang).Familiar with debugging and profiling tools (e.g., gdb, Valgrind, strace).Curious about how systems work under the hood—compilers, filesystems, networking, etc.Attention to detail, strong debugging skills, and a desire to write robust, clean code.Bonus ExperienceExperience with scripting tools (Python, Bash, C) for testing or build automation.Exposure to container environments (Docker) or embedded systems.What You’ll LearnReal-world systems programming in a production environment.How infrastructure is designed to be reliable, testable, and scalable from the ground up.Best practices in modular code design, build tooling, and runtime analysis.How foundational code enables and supports higher-level application and AI layers. The the hourly compensation range targeted for this role based out of Gigamon's Santa Clara, CA, Headquarters office is $40.00 - $44.00/hr. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
