In this paid internship, you’ll be empowered to work on challenging and complex issues in a collaborative environment with other talented interns. Over the 10-week program, you’ll participate in business projects, mentoring, leadership development training and team-building activities designed to set you up for professional success. The summer Internship program runs June through August, with flexible dates available, based on school schedules. Interns who perform well and demonstrate a commitment to our values of integrity, creativity, teamwork, passion and excellence may be extended employment opportunities with Western Alliance Bank.

Deposits, Payments, and Treasury Management (DPTM)

Potential areas of contribution and skills helpful for intern:
Analyze user requirements and create a reliable coding and/or process automating including detailed technical job flows and data delivery mechanismsShould be able to read Visual Basic code and assist in creating requirement documents/diagrams for migration strategyHands-on in developing and building code in Azure platform using C# code base leveraging Azure Functions and Azure data Factory servicesHands-on in building build and release pipelines in Azure DevOps (ADO)Maintain code repository in ADO Works both independently and as part of a cohesive team to deliver innovative software solutions to customers and business partnersParticipate in the creation of new products and prototypes from scratchEstablish key processing controls and alerting then collaborate with application support teams and leadership to proactively manage the systemBuild monitoring capabilities by defining key KPIs for applications or production critical processes to improve performance and efficiencyProactively identify and fix issues to improve backend service scalability, resiliency, and fault toleranceRespond to urgent bugs in a timely manner alongside engineersHelp foster good software engineering practicesPartner with different IT teams in maintaining and supporting applicationsYou may be a fit for the program if you meet certain eligibility requirements, including:
Undergraduate students currently enrolled in a related field of studyGPA of 3.0 or higher Experience reading Visual Basic code, knowledge is Azure DevOps(ADO) and coding in C# or a similar object oriented language.Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervisionAn interest in working in the Commercial Business Banking industryTo be eligible for this program, you must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.
