Freese and Nichols has an open internship on our Electrical Engineering Team in Tampa, Florida for summer 2025. These opportunities are in-office, not virtual. Current students will have the chance to gain hands on experience and work alongside professional engineers in the water/wastewater field. As an intern you will contribute to projects and apply what you are learning in your college coursework. This is a great opportunity for a student to get experience in a dynamic and growing engineering consulting firm. Relocation and housing are NOT provided for this position.

The Electrical Engineering group is responsible for:

Condition assessmentsElectrical power distribution (low voltage and medium voltage)Controls for water/wastewater plants and pump/lift stationsMotor startingGroundingEmergency power generationLighting

Responsibilities:

Perform electrical calculationsCreate plan sheetsRevise electrical specificationsPerform site visitsCoordinate with other disciplinesWrite engineering reportsReview contractor submittalsAutoCAD, Revit, and AGI32

QualificationsCurrent student pursuing a BS or MS degree in Electrical EngineeringGraduation date of August 2025 or later
