PURPOSE AND OVERVIEW:
AEO provides an opportunity for 1st or 2nd year law students to enhance their education and gain meaningful practical business and legal experience. In this position, you will have the opportunity to assist the AEO Legal Department in the following areas:
Labor and Employment Law Data Privacy Intellectual property (trademarks, copyrights, etc.) Regulatory and Compliance Commercial transactions and contract review Real Estate
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Legal interns will work directly with attorneys and legal personnel in the AEO Legal Department. Interns will gain experience by:
Conducting legal research, analyzing and summarizing legal documents, such as contracts, regulations, and case law, and providing recommendations to attorneys and legal personnel. Drafting legal memoranda, agreements, contracts, and correspondence. Attending and assisting attorneys in preparation for meetings with internal and external business partners and legal proceedings. Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be within the top 50% of class and/or hold a minimum of a 3.0 GPA - Please include an unofficial transcript as part of your application. Must currently be a 1st or 2nd year law student from a fully accredited law school. Must be proactive, resourceful and determined to succeed. Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills. Excellent writing and analytical skills. Must be detail-oriented. Excellent computer skills including all MS Office programs, Google, Internet research and ability to navigate and update internal corporate databases. Must have the ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.PAY/BENEFITS INFORMATION: Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
