Summary: 

As a Mechanical Engineer Intern- R&D, you will assist the Research Engineering Group in developing a mechanical design for the next-generation device to perform automated measurements of the physical properties of a golf ball. Under the mentorship of experienced engineers, you’ll gain hands-on experience in machine design, prototyping, and testing, directly contributing to advancements in golf ball testing technology.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Research Engineering Group to gather project requirements, develop initial concepts, and explore design options for the Physical Properties Machine Perform heat transfer calculations, static and dynamic analyses, and mathematical modeling to support design decisions Create 3D models and related technical drawings using SolidWorks for machine design Estimate project costs and contribute to feasibility studies for design options Assist in the prototyping, testing, and validation of design components Document project progress and provide updates to team members and stakeholders

Qualifications:

Education:

Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering 

Technical Skills:

Requirements gathering, initial concepts, cost analysis, and machine design processes Expertise in 3D modeling and drawing work using SolidWorks Knowledge of College Physics (Mechanics), Heat Transfer Calculations, Statics, and Dynamics Proficiency in mathematical modeling and engineering problem-solving techniques

Additional Skills:

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Passion for the golf industry or sports equipment design is a plus
