Summer 2025 Transmission Line Design Engineering Intern

Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for an Internship in our Power Delivery group’s Transmission & Distribution (T&D) department starting Summer 2025.

The internship will focus on the development of technical and communications skills while supporting client success through work on project deliverables. T&D engineers model and design high voltage power lines for utility and renewable applications using 3D software and the fundamentals of structural analysis to design a wide range of electrical infrastructure.

Opportunities for site visits and training may be provided. An internship with Ulteig provides valuable engineering design experience, practical application of coursework, and valuable workforce experience with a top consulting engineering firm.

 

What You'll Do 

Work closely with engineers to complete assignments and meet project deadline Work on assignments that focus on structural and electrical design components for 69kV-345kV transmission lines including wood and steel poles, foundation design, and total transmission system design Learn to use industry-specific software, PLS-CADD, and will work with various industry design codes and standards

 

What We Expect from You

Minimum of 2 years completed towards earning a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred (years completed apply to when the internship would start) Specific coursework such as structural analysis (concrete and steel) is preferred. AutoCAD experience is preferred. Experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), and any additional software knowledge depending on specialization is preferred. Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $25.00/hr
