Mandatory Training(s) All camp staff must attend mandatory training . + Tuesday, May 13th: 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. ( Camp Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors only ) + Thursday, May 22nd: 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. ( All staff ) + Tuesday, May 27th: 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. ( All staff ) + Friday, May 30th: Full Day. ( All Staff ) + Monday, June 2nd: Full Day, Training and site set-up. ( All staff ) + Tuesday, June 3rd: Full Day, Training and site set-up. ( All staff ) Additional CPR training may be required. Dates vary, your assigned camp Coordinator will provide information. Work Schedules for All Positions All camp staff agree to be available to work full days, Monday through Friday, from June 4th - August 8th, unless specified and approved prior to hire. + Optional Mini-Camp Counselor opportunity August 4th - 8th. + Attending all scheduled training and working 42 full days out of the 47 available camp days between June 4th and August 8th may earn a $100 bonus . Pay Rates We have four (4) positions available; please note that the pay is non-negotiable . + New hires receive the minimum rate. + Staff rehired for Summer Camp receive a $0.50/hr pay incentive per year of experience, up to a maximum of $1.50/hr in addition to the base rate. + Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors, who possess a current Professional Florida Educator's Certificate (teachers) at the time of hire, receive a $2.00/hr pay incentive in addition to the base rate. This must be provided during the hiring process to receive the incentive . BASE HOURLY PAY RATES: > Assistant Supervisor : 1st year $16.50, 2nd year $17.00/hr, 3rd year $17.50/hr, 4th year (or higher) $18.00/hr > Supervisor : 1st year $18.00/hr, 2nd year $18.50/hr, 3rd year $19.00/hr, 4th year (or higher) $19.50/hr Job Responsibilities and Minimum Qualifications Responsibilities for ALL Positions: + Have an ability to organize and participate in games, sports, individual and group activities, arts and crafts, theme weeks, special events, field trips, the summer reading program, etc. + May assist with providing necessary and appropriate modifications to ensure all children can participate in camp activities. This may include interventions when negative behavior is displayed and helping with corrective actions to reinforce positive behaviors. Summer Camp Supervisor & Assistant Supervisor Responsibilities: + Direct summer recreation camp operation, generally with less than 175 campers. + Act as a liaison with field trip venues; responsible for maintaining the safety of children and staff at field trip locations and during transportation to and from field trip locations; supervise the actions of counselors. + Display leadership ability in planning and directing recreational activities. + Ensure the safety and security of children and staff at a facility; maintain safe conditions at a facility. + Work with the Therapeutic Recreation (T-REC) / Parks ADA Coordinator as needed, to provide necessary and appropriate modifications to ensure all children may participate in camp activities. This may include interventions when negative behavior is displayed and helping with corrective actions to reinforce positive behaviors. Minimum Qualifications: + Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. ​ Assistant Supervisor Minimum Qualifications: + A minimum of one (1) year (or season for day camp experience) of work experience in a childcare/day camp program, including direct contact with children and staff supervision. Supervisor Minimum Qualifications: + A minimum of two (2) years (or seasons for day camp experience) of work experience in a childcare/day camp program, including direct contact with children and staff supervision.
