Job Description TASK FORCE: Personnel Management and Administration UNIT: L&D Communications & Operations JOB TITLE: One (1) Summer Intern CONTROL CODE: PMA Intern-25-02 SUMMARY: The Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City government's chief financial agency. OMB's staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets, which fund the services and activities of approximately 90 City agencies and entities. OMB’s Learning & Development (L&D) Unit is responsible for overseeing the agency’s learning strategy and for ensuring OMB employees get the training, resources, information, and practice they need to do their best work. L&D collaborates with all divisions, task forces, and units within OMB. JOB DESCRIPTION: The New York City Mayor's Office of Management and Budget is looking for a Communications & Operations Intern for their Learning & Development (L&D) Unit. The responsibilities for this role are diverse, falling under the areas of communications, administration, project management, and marketing. Responsibilities: - Manage marketing and communications for program rollouts, including composing, sending out internal communications promoting L&D initiatives, and following up after training sessions. - Assist in the development and execution of L&D communications strategy. - Create, prepare, and update marketing materials and learning assets such as newsletters, intranet announcements, user guides, infographics, job aids, presentations, and short videos. - Maintain department calendar and coordinate communications schedules across intranet and email. - Administrate and moderate internal online discussion boards to support the adoption and usage of internal communications platforms. - Oversee registration and logistics for L&D events and provide administrative support for department activities. - Support the overall unit with daily priorities. QUALIFICATIONS: - Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills. - Excellent writer with experience composing, proofreading, and editing targeted content while incorporating visual elements. - Proactive with the ability to handle complex tasks and manage small projects independently. - Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and quick to adapt to new technology. - Enjoys collaborating in a team environment. REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate interns must be currently enrolled or accepted into an accredited college or university. Strong analytical, research and communications skills are required. Candidates must have familiarity in MS Word and Excel To participate in the OMB Summer Internship Program, undergraduate students must be enrolled or accepted into a college or university. SUMMER COLLEGE INTERN - 10234 Qualifications As of June of the Program year the prospective interne must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year). NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.
