Allegion provides college students with challenging summer internship assignments and valuable exposure to our company's senior leaders.  Through meaningful work projects, our interns are empowered to build diverse skill sets and a strong foundation for a successful and fulfilling career with Allegion.  The program runs from (May - August).  Interns participate in a leadership speaker series, professional development sessions and work on projects supporting our charitable partners.  Upon completion of a successful internship many students are converted to full time opportunities within our early career programs.

Qualifications:

What You Will Do:

Strong analytical skills and comfort with complex dataResiliency and ability to adapt quicklyAbility to work in a highly collaborative environmentProficient in Microsoft Office productsMust have the ability to work independently or in teams, and be able to prioritize own work, and meet agreed timelines.Must have mechanical aptitude and be willing to help in testing set-upsHave knowledge and experience using CAD for design (experience with ProE preferred)Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication a plus.Develops working knowledge of product family in assigned area, with awareness of system designLearns established engineering processes (ECN, BOM, RFQ, etc.), standards, methods, and procedures needed to accomplish assigned tasks within discipline.Builds and develops work practices and skills.Good written and verbal communication skills.Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.Ability to relate to others resourcefully and with flexibility.Ability to solve problems and work with others to resolve problems.Contribute to multiple projects at a time with specific deliverables.Interaction w/other cross-functional teams.Guidance and direction provided by manager.  Some projects assigned by manager, some sought out by employee.Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills.  Ability to clearly present technical information to other groups within Engineering.Usually able to sort out the key issues versus the peripheral issues.  Has a basic understanding of the assumptions being made in an approximation.  Able to generate several alternative solutions and evaluate their feasibility.

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, architectural, construction, or a related fieldCompleted junior year or above by the start of the internshipDemonstrated leadership ability and initiative e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, leadership on school or work projects, etc.Passion for creating relationshipsCompetitive spirit and desire to be a part of a winning teamHigh internal motivation, creativity, and forward-thinking abilityExcellent communication skills; in particular must be comfortable creating and delivering recommendations and information to a groupStrong organizational skills and technologically savvyAbility to stay organized and detail orientedMinimum 3.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale
