Summer Internship: Supply Chain intern

Education Required:  

Bachelor’s degree: In-Progress

Experience Preferred: Life Sciences or related degree In-Progress

General Description:  

The Supply Chain summer intern position will report to the Head of Site Supply Chain and will proactively support various supporting activities to enable on-time start-up and continued operations of the BeiGene US Hopewell Manufacturing facility. It’s understood that most interns will not have directly applicable experience. As such, interns can expect to receive relevant training, however, will need to be able to assimilate and apply information in a timely manner.   

Activities will include but not be limited to:  

a. Writing and/or updating new procedures 

b. Applying project progress and tracking management  

c. Support material planning and management of critical supplies by working within an ERP 

d. Support small technical projects:  

Develop workflows related to material and operations 

Participate in logistics related activities on shipment coordination

Material inventory level tracking 

Master Data Process Improvements 

Data Analysis and Interpretation, i.e dashboard creation, internal request workflow development 

Develop production related planning schedules 

​Additional Skills/Attributes Required: 

Willingness to learn new skills/software’s as required, MS Excel or Smart Sheet advanced proficiency is a must. 

Evidence of good verbal and written communication. Must be comfortable with presenting, if needed. 

Ability to work in fast paced dynamic environment with competing priorities.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate within and between diverse groups.

Proactive identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities. 

Able to receive and incorporate feedback – passion for ongoing professional development a plus. 

Aptitude for learning moderately complex technical systems. 

Physical Requirements: 

Must be able to stand for long periods

Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend/stoop, push/pull, and handle/grip frequently. 

Must be able to work scheduled 40 hours with the ability to work overtime as needed. 

Must be comfortable in working in varying temperatures. 

Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying.  Ability to lift to 40 lbs.  

Regular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting. 

Repetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. 

Environment requires dedicated gowns, depending on area

Work with hazardous materials and chemicals

Willing to work any shift

Computer Skills:  Familiarity with computer-based systems.  Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a must.  

Pay Rate: $27.50/hr (Bachelor’s)

Salary Range: $ - $ per hour

Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
